When promoter Tavo Hellmund and motorcycle legend Kevin Schwantz joined forces with track architect Hermann Tilke, they had a bold idea: create a world-class destination that would put Austin, Texas on the global motorsports stage.
That vision became reality in 2012 when Circuit of The Americas (COTA) opened its 3.4-mile circuit in the rolling hills of southeast Austin. Featuring a dramatic 133-foot climb into Turn 1 and 20 turns inspired by legendary European tracks, COTA quickly established itself as a global destination, welcoming more than 400,000 fans to its inaugural Big Race weekend and growing to host MotoGP, NASCAR and other world-class entertainment experiences.
