Mark Midkiff

Mark Midkiff was appointed to the board in May 2024 and currently serves on the Risk Committee.
He is the former Chief Risk Officer of KeyCorp, responsible for Key's risk management functions, including enterprise, credit, market, compliance and operational risk, as well as portfolio management and asset recovery activities. Mr. Midkiff reported directly to the CEO and was Chairman of KeyBank National Association, a member of KeyCorp's Executive Leadership Team and Executive Council. He was vice chair of Key Corporation’s Enterprise Risk Management Committee.
Mr. Midkiff joined Key from BB&T, where he served as Deputy Chief Credit Officer. Prior to this role, he served as the Global Chief Risk Officer, responsible for overseeing the risk functions in all of GE Capital’s business units. During his tenure at GE Capital, Mr. Midkiff’s role was to lead and evolve all aspects of Global Risk Management during a major organization restructuring, directing a diverse team of CROs and operating across 20 countries. He served on GE Capital’s board of directors.
Mr. Midkiff has also held positions of increasing responsibility at MUFG Union Bank, where his last position was Vice Chairman and Chief Risk Officer. In this role he led and grew the Enterprise Risk Management business across Union Bank and the broader MUFG organization in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. Mr . Midkiff began his career at Wachovia (now Wells Fargo Bank), where among several roles he led the Commercial Real Estate line of business and spent 25 years in risk management including CRO roles of increasing responsibility.
Mr. Midkiff earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also attended Wachovia’s Executive Leadership Program at Duke University and The Wharton/RMA Executive Risk Management Program.
Mr. Midkiff currently serves on the Advisory Council of the International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers (IACPM) and is a board and Executive Committee member of ProSight (formerly the Risk Management Association). He has served on the board of directors for the Cleveland Play House.
