Jay Clingman

Jay Clingman is Managing Director and Head of Commercial Banking at Texas Capital. He is responsible for delivering industry expertise and developing commercial strategy to expand the firm’s client base while working closely with all areas of Commercial Banking, including Corporate, Middle Market and Business Banking.

Mr. Clingman joined Texas Capital in November 2021, bringing more than three decades of experience in key regional markets across Texas. He most recently served as managing director and region manager of middle market banking in North Texas and Oklahoma at JPMorgan. In this role, he led efforts to bring investment banking, credit and treasury solutions to private and public companies. During his career at JPMorgan, Mr. Clingman also held the roles of managing director and region head for San Antonio and South Texas; managing director of the private bank, responsible for all private banking efforts in San Antonio, Austin and Houston; and was responsible for leading statewide efforts for capital markets selling fixed income securities to companies and high-net-worth individuals.

Mr. Clingman earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is FINRA Series 63, 24, and 79 certified. Mr. Clingman has a long history of serving on many nonprofit boards in the Dallas and San Antonio areas and currently serves as a board member for Klyde Warren Park in Dallas and the Briscoe Western Art Museum in San Antonio.
